William L. SMITH, son of Anthony and Eliza J. Thomas Smith, was born on a farm near Charlottesville, Ind Nov 5, 1859. There he grew to manhood about 45 years ago he came to the vicinity of Waynetown, residing for a number of years with the Walters family near Wesley. On March 27, 1907 he was united in marriage to Miss Zola Lewellen, who passed away Nov 18, 1918, since which time he continued his residence in his home in Waynetown. The past two years he resided with his daughter in Clinton, Ohio and in whose home he was stricken last January since then he had been an invalid. Several days ago he was taken to the City Hospital in Barberton, Ohio where he passed away at near 9:30 a.m. Saturday July 8 at the age of 79 years 8 months 3 days. He is survived by one son, Russell of Indianapolis and one daughter, Mrs. John Morgan, Clinton Ohio. - transcribed and donated by Karen Bazzani Zach
